Any exercises other than walking that`s safe during prenancy?

Hi I have been told my BMI is too high. I was wondering if you can tell me the comlications that may be involved with this. I have had 2 pregnancys previously with no comlications at all, and they never mentioned weight with them. Can you reccomend any exersises other than walkin thats safe during prenancy to try and loose weight. I have been told just 5kgs ios enough to loose to enable me to go to the birth centre thanks

Answer: Hi,
You can try regular swimming and walking and perhaps a regime that is developed at your local gym. Pregnancy is not a time to lose weight but you can try to limit the amount of weight gain during pregnancy by eating well and exercising regularly. The weight restrictions must be set at your local birth centre but these are not general restrictions so you may enquire at another birth centre where it is not an issue.
Best wishes,
Alex
