Do hospitals have different polices regarding induction?

Hi Alex, I was wondering if hospitals have different polices regarding induction. I am currently 8 days over my due date and have an appointment at the hospital on tuesday (10 days over) this is only an appointment. From there I will be assessed and an appointment made to be induced. I have 3 children and have been induced with all of them. The first 2 were 7 days over and 8lb 12oz and 9lb 10oz. The third was induced early due to the fact they thought he was going to be a 9lb 13oz baby. He ended up being 9lb 5oz. I have no doubt that he would have been close the the 10lb had he been overdue. Im worried that this one is going to be a big one too if they leave it too late. I didnt think hospitals let you go over 10 days.
thank you

Answer: Hi, It is still considered to be at term if your baby is born up to 2 weeks after the actual due date. It is also at term if the baby is 2 weeks before the due date. Try not to worry too much a decision will be made very soon and the baby will be born in plenty of time. Best wishes, Alex
