I have been told that I have cervical erosion which is causing the bleed

Hi,
I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing mild bleeding on and off for the past 2 weeks now. I have had an examination and have been told that I have cervical erosion which is causing the bleed. My midwife tells me that I need to try not to worry and I have been put on bed rest for 2 weeks. Is this fairly common? and if so do the women who get it go on to have full term healthy babies or is their likely to be further complications because of this?

Answer: Hi, This is something that is on the outside of your cervix and should not affect the pregnancy at all. You may experience further mild bleeding during your pregnancy that you will need to have checked but you should go to term. Best wishes, Alex
