My first labour was very traumatic and I am freaking out about labour this time around?

HI Alex
I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my second child. my first labour was very traumatic and I am freaking out about labour this time around. I was told because everything is stretched from the first time around that this time should be a better experience. is this true? also with my labour last time i was induced at 42 weeks and had a blood clot during an internal which they were concerned was the placenta breaking up, if i get to 40 weeks this time around can i demand an earlier induction due to my past history?
cheers

Sarah...
Answer: Hi, Usually second time around everything is a lot straighter forward. Your body has experienced labour and birth and it seems to know what to do. However, you may go overdue this time too (as this part can repeat itself), but hopefully you will be able to go into labour naturally which is a much gentler experience. Try not to worry too much, more than likely you will be presently surprised. Best wishes, Alex
