According to my scans my baby is not growing as it should be

Hi Alex, I am getting concern now, I am 36wks pregnant and according to my scans my baby is not growing as it should, it only weigh 1.9kg as this stage.
Could you tell what will happen after the baby is born or any idea on the slow growing.

Answer: Hi,
There are a few causes of the baby not growing to the size it should for its age. It can be form other conditions that the mother may have such as high blood pressure or diabetes and sometimes the cause is unknown. Your health care professionals will do lots of tests to check if the baby is growing or needs to be born to continue its growing on the outside. Once the baby is born it will rapidly gain weight and will develop normally if there are no underlying problems.
Best wishes,
