Will I be able to breast feed this time?

Hi Alex
I have a 14 month old and I am pregnant with my second child. With my first Bailey I had lots of problems with breast feeding as I have flat nipples we tryed the nipple shields and different tecniques but i ended up with mastitas twice due to Bailey not being able to drain my milk out. He ended up on formula and thrived he is in the 95% percentile and very healthy. once my milk dryed up i was left with horrible breast and basically no nipples at all i cant even get them to come out. Do you have any tips apart from the nipples shield that you could give me?

Answer: Hi, Thank you for your enquiry. It sounds as if you may need to consult a lactation consultant who will be able to assess your situation and provide ongoing advice and care. Please ask at your local early childhood health centre or through your local hospital. Best wishes, Alex.
