Any tips for getting him "off the breast"?

Hello, I have a baby boy who is 21 months and have just found out I am 8 weeks pregnant with our second baby. My son is still breast fed and i would like to wean him asap, in time for him to be fine when the new baby arrives and starts feeding. My son feeds to sleep and I am having great difficulty getting him `off the breast`... any tips?? Thank you, brooke

Answer: Hi, It is very safe to continue to feed during pregnancy and you can even feed both children without any complications to you or the baby, your body adapts very well to this situation. If you do want to wean your son you may want to get your partner to do most of the settling and after a few days of reassurance and firm settling techniques (not giving in) he should settle. Best wishes, Alex.
