Hi I have a 2year 7 month old boy. We started toilet training 5 months ago. He got it perfectly for the first 2 months no accidents then regressed completely. Had to eventually put back in nappies Now not interested in toilet and deliberately chooses to
He is very independent with very good language skills.
Answer: HI, Sometimes in this type of situation it's worthwhile forgetting all about the TT for a couple of weeks and then reintroducing the strategies you've tried before. The toddler gets into a cycle of saying "no" and being oppositional, the novelty has worn off and they're tired of it all. No one gets anywhere. But if you choose to forget about it for a while and just do what's practical and then when he's a bit older and you're all refreshed it's worthwhile trying again. Or the other option is to wait until the warmer weather and it's simply easier to TT with less layers of clothing. Be patient with him, some toddlers, particularly boys take longer to TT than others. It's not a sign of intelligence, but simply maturity of the nervous system and habit. Best Jane
