My baby is 14 months old. She doesn't crawl or walk or pull herself up but she "bum shuffles" around the house. Should I be worried that shes not crawling?
Answer: Hi, The general advice from Occupational Therapists who specialise in this area is that any crawling which is a deviation from conventional crawling should be assessed. Bottom shuffling through cute to watch is not the "best" way to crawl and it would be worthwhile having her checked out. Be mindful that some health care professionals still feel that any crawling is what is important though experts like Jo Jackson King "Raising the Best Possible Child" are very clear on the importance of four limb crawling. Speak with your GP/CHN and request a review by a OT or physiotherapist who specialises in paediatrics. Best Jane
