My baby is 1 year old.He is a very active child but he is very skinny and thin..His weight is only 8.60 kg...His birth weight was 2.455 kg......what should i do to improve his health?
Poor growth of my toddler
Answer: Hi, Thanks for your question. At birth, he was between the 3rd and 5th percentiles and now at one is on the 5th. This means he's been pretty well tracking along the same percentiles since birth. However, if you're concerned enough to email, then this warrants a check by a health care professional who can see him and measure his head circumference and length as well. I'd suggest seeing your CHN and GP both of whom would, if concerned be able to refer your toddler to a paediatrician and/or a paediatric dietician who would be able to give you individual advice based on all the factors in your boy's history. Diet, genetics, environment and general health all play their own parts in how a child grows. It's not just one recommendation which will support his growth. You've taken the first step in getting support, I'd strongly suggest you seek professional and individual guidance. best Jane
