worried about rolling over in bed!!! Lock Rss

My bub of 4 and a half months can roll from his back to his tummy, and every time we put him down he rolls - so he is quite good at it. But he cant roll back, and when he rolls onto his tummy he holds his head up until he gets tired then grunts etc....until we roll him back. He hasnt learnt to put his head to one side and be calm, he actually gets a little distressed when he cant roll back (all of which I am sure is very normal) but what I am worried about is him rolling over in bed and us not hearing him and him getting in trouble in bed. His room is only across the hall from us but because he sleeps through from 8.30pm - 7am and has done for a while now, we have learnt to tune out from the little noises he makes during the night. Can you please tell me what happened with your bub's when they got to this stage. Any tips appreciated!!

Roll up a towel or something similar and lay it next to him so he can't roll in the first place - it might help.

You can buy things that stop them from rolling in their bed. My daughter starting sleeping on her tummy at 4.5months. I kept turning her over and was really worried at the start but I rang Ngala - sleep specialists and they said there isn't much you can do. My little girl is 11 months now and still loves to sleep on her tummy!!
I put my 6 month old in her sleeping bag so she cant roll over as she cant swing her legs across each other. It has worked a treat.
