Hiccups Lock Rss

Does anyone know what causes hiccups and what I can do to stop them....?

My 2 month old gets them 3 - 4 times a day.... I find if I put her on the breast they go, but there has to be an easier way???

HELP!

Bradyn used to get hiccups alot. Even in the womb. In hospital they said its not quite the same as what we get and is caused by an imbalance of pressure, and yes feeding stops the hiccups, the nurses said to feed/continue feeding when he hiccupped. If your little one is like mine they will gradually get less and less. Sometimes Bradyn would spew a little when he hiccupped, there is nothing to worry about.

Hi Mandy,
I was told the same. My little one gets them on average about 5 times a day. And even more when she giggles lots!
When she was a newborn she would get them heaps of times, my hubby and I would make a joke of it after a while! I used to offer her a bit of cool boiled water and that helped her stop them as she only needed a few sucks.
