wont have afternoon sleep Lock Rss

hi everyone smile

My 9mth-old just won't go to sleep at all in the afternoons for the last 2 months. But she really seems to need the sleep, and is rubbing her eyes and yawning and cranky (very cranky!).
Every time I put her down she just screams in there and I can leave her for 1.5hrs (checking intermittently) and she just won't settle.
So now I have given up and try to amuse her with a walk, but the afternoons seem sooooo long! She won't even sleep in the pram or car in the afternoon.
How do you know when bub is ready to drop a sleep? Are they always happy to stay up or do they still get cranky at end of the day? Or should I keep trying to make her sleep? My friend's bub is the same age and she is having the same problem ... wondering if anyone is going thru this too?
Thanks .....

If you contact your local child health clinic most of them provide day stays that deal with sleep issues. Perhaps they may be helpful for you.
