sleep help in Adelaide, SA? Lock Rss

Does anyone know of a good place to take a baby with major sleep issues (waking every 1.5hours in the night)

My friend has 10 1/2 month old and is getting very tired! She is going back to work in a month and I thought if someone knew a good place I could pass on to her.

Thanks smile

Hi Jo

Wow, this must be really tough on your friend! Having had some sleep issues with my 8 month old son myself i have had a bit of a look around in adelaide and, compared to other states, there doesn't seem to be a lot in regards to sleep centres.

I do know that Child and Youth Health do day stays at their clinics where mum and bubs go there for the day and they do a full assessment and watch you settle and give you tips and techniques etc. CYH may also refer your friend onto Torrens House which is place where you actually stay for 3 or 4 nights and they help with settling and sleep issues etc. they have a pretty good website that you can get to through the CYH website. I think that Women's and Childrens Hospital may also have a program for helping babies sleep?

Other than that the only options i think are private paediatricians/sleep specialists which is obviously an expensive way to go about things! I would love for someone to correct me on the presence of other services though!!!

Anyway good luck, i hope your friend gets some sleep soon! All the best
