Is your little boy on solids yet? Maybe he is waking up hungry. Try giving him some rice cereal before going to bed and see what happens, or maybe he is just thirsty when he wakes, and wants a drink. Offer him a drink of boiled water and see if he goes back to sleep. I did that with my son when he was 4 months old, and he started to sleep from 8pm to 6am every night. As the weather is getting warmer at night, his body needs more fluids. Good luck with whatever you decide.

As for the boredom/ frustration factor, I am just getting used to a messy house. I figure he won't be grounded for long so I will enjoy it while I can.
I hope this helps or gives you a idea, I figure everything is worth a go if it means a happy baby

now she has flash naps lasting only 30 minutes. i try for 2 a day, occaisionally she will sleep longer. now she still wakes up at night for feeds but will go back to bed easily for 9 hours. my little girl never did the 4 hour system (up 2 hours & asleep 2 hours), so your child may require less sleep, if they are still healthy its not so bad. i originally tried to play excessive to tire her out but eventually settled on longer distances between nap times. it takes abit to arrange a suitable scedule but it will all work out eventually. hope i could help.
