Microwaves Rss

Hi to all mums and dads

I was wondering what your opinions are on using the microwave to heat up bubs bottles and meals.

I have been told by a friend that it is better to use microwave rather than heating them up in the hot water.

I always thought it wasn't such a good idea, as the micro-waves are still in the food even though you let the bottles and food stand.

What are your thoughts?

All the best

Ask your Maternal health nurse as I got a hand out about it from her which said there are no micro waves once the microwave stops but it heats up using a friction type heat which is still heating for a short time after micrwave has stopped. Microwave is fine in my opinion.

The only problem with the microwave is that it can create hot spots. But if you give it a really good shake afterwards you should be ok. I shake mine as if I'm mixing his bottle and so far we haven't had any problems.
With food you need to make sure you give it a real good stir afterwards.
Breastmilk can't be done in the microwave as it destroys the anti bodies in it.
