Stopping Breastfeeding? Lock Rss

I'm a little confused as to why your DR thinks there is "no point" breastfeeding your 6month old?

I am still breastfeeding my 7.5month old and don't plan on stopping anytime soon even though she is on solids as well. There is PLENTY of benefits of breastfeeding her
The reality is that GPs have very little education about breastfeeding (only a few hours in their university degree) so they are not generally not qualified or experienced in breastfeeding information. Your GP has actually provided you with medication that will affect your milk supply and given you innaccurate information about breastfeeding (against WHO recommendations). It really is no wonder the breastfeeding rates are so low in this country. I would encourage you to ditch this GP and find someone else who is supportive of breastfeeding or at a bear minimum can provide you with the correct information.
