I was the same while BF. I could get heaps more when I hand expressed than when I used the pump. It was HEAPS better in the early days when I had sores on my nipples too because the pump would just open the sores up again. Later on in breastfeeding, the pump barely worked for me so I just hand expressed if I had to.
I had the 2 holes on one side & 6 on the other too. I think it's more to do with the pressure of the milk coming out. If you squirted it out abit faster, it might come out of the other holes.
ETA: your bub might have a favourite side, so one boob would be bigger because she/he's spent more time on that side.
Oh that's good that it's happened with someone else as well. I wonder why that is? Maybe the pump is just shot? It's no biggie cuz I don't really have the need to express, but just this weekend I am going out for the day on Saturday and mum
Is looking after ds so obviously he needs milk do I'm just trying to stockpile. But it's proving to be rather difficult!
Funny you say about favoring sides, when ds was a fresh one that side I had troubles with and couldn't get him to latch on. I thought it was going to explode! But now that I have mastered the laying across the front feeding position (only took me 5 months!) that side is a heck of alot easier to feed from than the left.
I have actually just realized that I got my lefts and rights mixed up! Duh! Clearly don know them. <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
