steralizing Lock Rss

at what age is it okay to stop sterilizing bottles?

We stopped steralising at 6 months smile
I stopped when my third baby was about a month old. There's not really any need to sterilise as long as you wash in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly in hot water smile

I don't bother anymore (I did with my first two children, but not with DD). I sterilized bottles and dummies before first use, then washed them in warm soapy water thereafter.

I did some research and discovered it's no longer considered necessary. Apparently sterilization is a left over from days when water supplies weren't reliably clean. Those of us breast feeding can't sterilize our nipples (ouch!) and babies cope just fine.
