Flaky skin on nipples while breastfeeding Rss

Hi Alex,
I've recently noticed the skin on ad around my nipples is flaking off.
There doesn't see to be any increased tenderness, and I have checked bubba's mouth for any white spots thinking it may be thrush. There don't appear to be any in her mouth, so I'm not too sure what this could be.
I've been breastfeeding for 16 months now, and have not eperienced this before.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Laura.

Hi Laura,
Than you for your enquiry. Your nipples could be a little drier than usual or you may have some form of dermatitis from a new bra or soap? Is it itchy or inflamed? If so, you need to be seen by a doctor or it may be just dry skin. See if it continues and then seek advice. You could try a couple of doses of a paw paw ointment on the nipples after a feed to see if this helps.

Best wishes,
Alex.
