Thank you for your enquiry. Braxton Hicks contractions are really tightenings that occur from about 24weeks and continue until birth. You may notice your abdomen going hard for a short time and they are not overly painful. They work to increase the blood flow around the uterus. Sometimes they can get more uncomfortable and more noticeable later in pregnancy. They don’t affect the baby at all and are considered healthy for the pregnancy. Some women get more and feel them more than others.
