milk supply Lock Rss

Is there anything that i can do or take to build up my milk supply?
I've read that if you try and feed every 2-3 hrs or express if baby is not hungry. Eat lots of healthy foods, get plenty of rest whenever possible and drink lots of water it helps. I have tryed this as i was formula feeding and breastfeeding and want to exclusivly breastfeed, and my supply has gone up quite a bit. Even now i sometimes have a lot of milk left over that i have to store as baby dosn't drink that much yet.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry. Your milk supply is increased by increasing the demand – this means increasing the time your baby spends at the breast, either extra feeds or longer feeds. Milk supply is very efficient once established and it adjusts to your baby’s needs very quickly. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water.
Best wishes,
Alex.
