Sleeping At Night Lock Rss

Is it okay to sleep on your back when you are 6 months pregnant?
Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry. The reason that it is recommended not to sleep on your back once the baby is getting bigger is that the weight of the baby puts pressure on a major artery in the body and can make you feel feint. So it is not advisable to stay on your back for long periods as the baby gets bigger for this reason. If you are finding it difficult to get comfortable on your side, you can try a small pillow between your legs or a small pillow under your belly.
Best wishes,
Alex.
