fiths above brim Lock Rss

how do they measure? and what does it mean when they write 4/5 how far down is that and also last time it was written down as ( 7 with a funny looking "0" ) what does that mean?

Thank you for your enquiry. As a woman gets closer to the birth, the carers begin to check if the baby’s head has engaged and how far it has descended into the pelvis. This is measured in fifths. It can be 4/5 into the brim (top of pelvis) or 4/5 above the brim. The further into the brim the further the baby’s head is into the pelvis.
Best wishes,
