Thanks for your enquiry. It is normal in pregnancy to have an increase in vaginal mucous discharge during pregnancy. Sometimes this can have some old blood in this discharge and it causes no problems to the mother or baby. Any bleeding during pregnancy needs to be assessed by a health professional, however, so you should mention it to your doctor so that they can check if you need any further investigations.
