8 week old baby with daytime sleeping problems Lock Rss

My little boy is 8 weeks old and has bad reflux, which we are medicating with gaviscon and ranitidine. He will have a good 3hr sleep after his morning feed, but during the day things get progressively worse and usually from about 2.00pm (sometimes earlier) he won't sleep at all until bedtime at about 10.00pm at night. I have tried sleeping him in his carseat to keep him more upright but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Any advice?
Hi,
Often wrapping can reduce the pain of reflux. A routine of feed /play/sleep will also help.

If you start sleeping your son in a car seat this will become a habit and end up a problem.

A baby in pain will still have pain in your arms, so if you feel that he is willing to settle say in your arms then you can be fairly sure he would be ok to try settling into his cot with some wrapping and perhaps some settling techniques.

You can get details for our settling program on <a href="http://www.huggies.com/au/pregnancy_parenting/yourbabysleep/">Your Baby’s Sleep</a> page.

Cheers Maree
