3 month old won't sleep during the day Lock Rss

Hi, my three month old son won't sleep for anymore than 15 minutes at a time during the day. The most if I'm lucky is an hour. By 4pm he is screaming and is almost hard to control. Lately we have to take him for a walk to settle him and help him go to sleep. I know this is causing us more problems with him not getting used to falling asleep in his cot. I feed him at 4pm followed by a bath (where he plays for about 15 minutes) and then once out of the bath he starts to scream again. He may finally go to sleep between 5.30pm - 7.30pm, but then he can wake again between 1am - 3am for a bottle. He is getting so exhausted as I am also. What can you recommend, we have tried letting him scream for 5 minute intervals and then we go into his room and try to settle but he gets so worked up nothing works. We let this go on for no more than 20 minutes before we try to settle him by cuddling.
What can we do!!!!

Tanya, Qld, 3 mth baby

Hi,
I really believe that he is now a very overtired baby and you would be best to follow a feed/play/sleep program so that you can watch for his tired signs and act on them straight away, an overtired baby is harder to settle.

The settling program we teach is all hands on, no leaving baby but patting when he cries and stop patting when he stops crying, You can do this in 15 minute intervals.

To get full details of our settling program go to ‘<a href="http://www.huggies.com/au/pregnancy_parenting/yourbabysleep/">Your Baby’s Sleep</a> page or follow the It’s Time To Sleep DVD&BOOK. Huggies have a great offer on at the moment – see <a href="http://www.huggies.com/au/about_huggies/special_offers/bookoffer/">Member Exclusive Book Offers</a>
