still wakes twice a night! Lock Rss

Hi, I have a 6 1/2 month old baby boy. He eats 3 meals a day, breastfed on demand and has two 2 hour sleeps a day. He goes to bed after a feed with his dummy and still gets wrapped. He puts himself to sleep easily and will not go to sleep if someone is holding him. The problem is twice a night he cries and wants a feed, usually around 1am and 4am. When I go into his room he is wide awake and smiling. How can I get him to sleep through without his two night feeds??? :-/

Hi,
He is looking for your comfort and the feed to return to sleep and if you want to change this then from 6 months on you can try a rollover feed.

After putting baby to bed at about 7pm you wake baby gently at 10pm and offer a feed.

If baby wakes at other times then you can go straight into using settling techniques knowing confidently that baby is not hungry.

From 3 months on we don’t recommend wrapping as baby begins to move around and for safety reasons it is better not to wrap.

You can get details for our settling program from Your Baby’s Sleep page or from <a href="It's time to sleep</a"http://www.itstimetosleep.com/">It's Time To Sleep DVD&BOOK
