13mth old has not slept through yet! Rss

I am a mother of 3 chilren. My youngest-Ella-13mths has never slept though. Some nights I wonder why I bother going to bed. She is on 3 bottles a day. Is a very picky eater and does not eat a lot of solids-refuses anything that she can not pick up with her hands and when she does, she does not eat a lot, but does not have any problems with her weight (big girl for her age).
We have had her to a sleep clinic which helped a little (got her dummy off her), but no sleep improvement. She has 2 sleeps a day - anywhere from 40-90 minutes. Wakes around 6am & goes to bed around 7pm. We have tried controlled crying - she does not give up & makes herself sick. She has a very strong personality and a lot of determination. She can not stand being restrained (car seat/high chair for longer than 20-30minutes) but still likes to be wrapped to sleep (arms out).
Some nights are better than others but on average I would be up to her at least 3 times a night.

Hi Kim,

The 3 bottles she has, are some of them during the night? If so you need to stop the night feeding, because part of the reason she is not eating so much during the day is because she is too full on her milk.

I would advise following the settling techniques for 6 to 12 months old (you can find these on Your Baby’s Sleeppage) and when waking during the night don’t offer her a feed. I recommend that you get a copy of <a href="It's time to sleep</a"http://www.itstimetosleep.com/">It's Time To Sleep DVD& Book to ensure that you are following the program correctly.

Good luck, Maree
