lies awake quietly but wont sleep Lock Rss

My baby is 3 weeks old and when put to bed, lies awake for a long time just looking around. She doesn't usually cry, apart from the odd whinge now and then, but it seems to take a long time for her to fall asleep, sometimes more than an hour. When she wakes she is very unsettled and really screaming for food. We try not to pick her up when she becomes unsettled and have hardly ever 'rocked' her to sleep (maybe once her twice in the first couple of days once home). She is bottle fed and her feeds are quite varied, anything from 50ml to 140ml! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The best advice I can give you is to follow a feed/play/sleep routine.
This is feed baby when she wakes, play with her, then when she shows tired signs yawning, rubbing eye,s arching back or grizzly you wrap her and settle her awake into her cot.
You can use our patting techniques which really help.
You can get an overview of our settling program from the <a href=" https://www.huggies.com.au/BeingAParent/YourBab... Baby’s Sleep</a> section of the Huggies site or for more detail, and a visual demonstration, from <a href="It&#39;s time to sleep&lt;/a" />It's Time To Sleep</a> DVD&BOOK.
