11 Week Old Sleep Pattern Lock Rss

I have an 11 week old boy with a okay sleeping pattern.

Night sleeps range anywhere between 4-8 hours, he feeds and goes straight back down no probs.

Having trouble with sleeping durning day - He has 2-4 powernaps a day ranging anywhere between 10 to 60 mins. And becomes quite cranky come time for his feed and bedtime. I try to put him down for bedtime around the same time each night around 6-7pm is this too early ???? He seems exhausted by then, showing plenty of tired signs.

Is this normal for a baby of his age?

Should I encourage more day sleeps - How do I get him to sleep longer. When he does sleep he stays where ever he sleeps to avioid a screaming fit, rather than his cradle.

Should I wrap him for day and night sleeps and at what age should I stop wrapping him.

he is breastfeeding and feeds quite well both mum and bubby happy in that department.
Hi Kirstie,

Anything under one hour is considered a cat nap and if you were to try our settling techniques you would see a great improvement in nap times.

It's all hands on at this age, but you must settle bub awake and into his cot. Wrapping is recommended up to 3 months old so you can continue to wrap for a bit longer, it may help with the settling for now. I strongly suggest you get a copy of <a href="It's time to sleep</a"http://www.itstimetosleep.com/">It's Time To Sleep DVD&BOOK, it will take you step by step through the settling techniques. Huggies has a great discount offer on at the moment if you go to Huggies Member Exclusive Book Offers.

Cheers Maree
