What is 'normal' weight gain? Lock Rss

Hi guys,

I have a 4 week old, and took her to be weighed today. She has gained 620g in 2 weeks, I was told that babies gain 150g - 200g per week. Just wondering if that's too much. She was born 3.430kg and is now 4.260 kg.

in the back of ur blue book is a chart... if it continues along the same sort of curve it is fine

Hi There,
My baby once put on 1.5 kilos in 2 and a half weeks, the nurse said that it was good and that he was healthy, even though his weight is above the curve graph thing in the blue book. I think its more of a problem if they arent gaining weight or losing weight.

your bubs weights were all similar to my bub, she gained alot between the 2 week and 4 week weigh in. At 4 weeks she weighed 9pd 1. which is around the 4.1kg mark (i think).

My bub at 6 weeks now weighs 8pd 1. She lost a whole pound after a horror week with her new formula, i wont mention brand. But im lucky i got her off it when i did. she lost a whole pound in a week.

I love my babies .....
