Naming Cermeony Lock Rss

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are planning a naming ceremony for our 5 week old baby boy. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what we can do or know any sites with good poems that we could use as ideas for our ceremony? Any help would be greatly appreciated smile Thanks smile

Hi Karina,

I had a naming day for my daughter when she was 4 months old and I am now planning my next naming day for my son who is almost 6 weeks old now.

For both of my children I have bought them a tree, the idea being that their tree will grow with them. For my daughter Madeleine we bought her a Mango tree and planted it on her special day.

For my son William we are planting a Lime tree for his special day.

I hired a local celebrant to conduct a non-relious ceremony and am planning to hire her again.

She provided us with a choice of services and themes. She also had a list of poems she used and gave a certificates for the baby, godparents and grandparents. It cost us $80 to have all that.

I have heard of people having themed naming ceremonies, blowing bubbles, releasing butterflies ect. The sky is the limit with ideas.

A web site that I love to go to for poem ideas is:

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Farm/9753/

It is a site with lots of poems and quotes on all subjects.

Hope this helps to give you some ideas.

If you have any further questions let me know.

Goodluck with planning your little boys special day!

Michelle

Thanks, that page is great smile Thanks for the ideas! I think i might include planting a tree, and we were thinking about lighting a candel too and having one for the god parents to light.

Hope your planning goes well smile

When We Herd The News Off You

We Did What Most Parents Do

We Opened Our Hearts So Wide

For You To Have A Place Inside

As Each Day Passed

We'll Think Off You

We'll Watch You Grow

Daddy Was Expecting Too

We'll Try To Image

The Person You'd Be

Who Would You Look Or Act Like?

We'll Think Of The Things

That We Would Do

The Times We'll Share

We'll Give You Piggysbacks

Push Your Swing

And Watch You Slide

We Would Teach You How To Ride A Bike

And Throw Your Rod

To Catch Your First Cod

We Would Hold Your Hand In Ours

Be Your Protector, Strong Yet Kind

We Would Be Your Hero And Friend

Give You Love And Advise

On Which You'll Depend,

We'll Always Remember

The Day You Were Born

What Words We Had Were Scarce And Few

A Tear And A Smile Were The Best We Could Do

At First Glance

You Were So Small

We Hardly Saw A Baby Girl At All

With Tubes And I V Lines

What A Frightening Sight

But You Were In For A Big Long Fight,

All Ten Fingers All Ten Toes

Barely As Big As A Rose

Although The Heal Pricks For Gases

Not A Tear Did She Cry

Give Her Strength

Give Her Hope

Please Let Us Know

She's Not Alone

Life Gave Us A Moment

Precious And Rare

Bursting With Pride, Excitement And Care

We Promised You Then

All That We Had.

See You Are Our Child

And We Are Your Parents..

So We Throught Of A Few Lessons

We Need To share

Like Standing Tall,

Playing Fair

When We First Saw Your Precious Face

We Prayed Your Life Be Touched With Grace

We Thanked The Angels From Above

And Promised You Unending Love

Through Misty Eyes,

We Dim The Light

We Whisper

"We Love You" Everynight

We Loved You From The Very Start

You Stole Our Breath

Embrassed Our Hearts

As A Family Our Journey Begins,

Our Hearts Yours Forever LIttle one

Now Theres Two Ways To Live Your Life

One Is As Through Nothing Is A Miracle

The Other Is As Through Everything Is A Miracle..

Caitlin You Are More Prefect Than WE Could Have Hopped,

More Beautiful Than We Could Have Dreamed

More Precious Than We Could Have Imaged

We LOve You More Than We Could Have Known....

it was such a good day just a reminder caitlin was born 14 weeks premmie, and it relates to that.
