Formula Feeding how often? Rss

Hi there I have a 7 week old bub that I have had to put on formula recently. The thing is he is feeding every 2 - 3 hrs. I am unsure if that is too much? He is draining his bottles and it doesn't seem to be giving him a belly ache or anything. Is it ok to feed him that often? My other 2 were formula fed but fed 4 hrly. I was told with my last one bu the midwife to feed him when he is hungry however often but on the tins it says so many bottles a day. Anyone else have this problem???
All babies are different and need different amounts. My DS was feeding 2 - 3 hourly up until about 6mths while my DD feed 4 hourly right from the start.
Don't woory what the tin says just feed your liitle boy when he is hungery, if he's not hungery he wont drink it.
It may be just a groth spurt or it may just be that that is how your baby likes to be feed.
Keep doing what you are doing it sounds like you are doing a great job!
should be every three hours my daughter was fed every three hours until about 4 months then she was given a bottle in the morning, lunch, afternoon and night plus her food. u should do what the tin says. i didnt have any problems with charley.

I am having the same problem with my daughter, she is 5 weeks old. I stretched her from 2 hrly feeds my giving her water in between and got her up to 3 hrly feeds. Now she is starting to get hungry before the 3 hrs is up, but she wont take more than 130ml per feed.
My plunket lady told me to try SMA formula as it sits in the tummy a bit longer keeping baby full. I haven't tried yet but will get some when I do the shopping. It can give your child constipation but water will help with that.
Hope this helps smile
