expressing milk Lock Rss

Does anyone know how long I can keep express milk in the fridge and freezer??
I thought it was about 2 -3 days in fridge and a month or so in the freezer.
Hi, 2-3 days in fridge and approx 3 months in freezer. smile

It depends on whose guidelines you use and whether bubs was full-term or not. I always kept my ebm in the fridge for up to 8 days with no problems (these are the more 'liberal' American guidelines) and milk in my freezer for 6 months....though I had to bin my freezer stash when he refused to take ebm. wink] This link has milk storage guidelines, and they're the ones I used.

And in case anyone else needs them, these are the guidelines for prem babies.

also does your milk seperate whilst it is sitting in the fridge???
Ive gotta give it a good shake before hand
Yes but STOP shaking it! Shaking destroys the properties in the milk, all you have to do is swirl it gently to re-mix it when warmed.
