2nd Baby Lock Rss

With DS (1st baby) he engaged 2months before he was born. I was talking to Midwife about it they other day as DD (2nd baby) hasnt engaged yet and she said 2nd (or other subsequent) babies usually dont engage until you are about to go into labour.
What have your experiences been with this?
Yesterday I had a lot of pressure in my pelvis and then last night I noticed baby had really 'dropped' (YAY, I no longer feel like I have someone living under my ribcage!!) so thinking she may have engaged? Now im starting to wonder how far away labour will be smile

Midwife is right but it doesnt happen to ALL 2nd babies, so try not to get to excited as my 2nd bub was engaged a month before i had him.

Hi there

My second bub engaged around 34/35 weeks and I was induced at 38 weeks. So it could mean something or you could be waiting a while. Good luck with your birth whenever it comes.
yep 2nd or all other bubs don't have to be engaged for labour to start
with my 3rd bub she didn't engage until i was in full labour

i think it is more that with 2nd babies they don't worry if they are not engaging more that it is a sign that labour is near. i'm 37 weeks, bub is not engaged and middy said not to worry she will likely only engage at 39-40 weeks.

Two beautiful girls, hubby working from home makes one happy mumma smile
