TENS machines Lock Rss

I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my second DS. Just hired a TENS machine from my hospital.

Any experience or hints for using it?

TIA smile

I tried one for my first labour. It helped a little for the start. Not much though. I ended up ripping it off my back after a couple of hours coz it ended up annoying me hahaha. It works for some people though.
Thanks for that: I have heard a similar story from a distant family member.

Any other experiences?

I used one for my labour. Found it helped in early stages. Only annoyance was i kept try to change positions and it got in my way. But i opted for a drug free birth and really found this helped alot. smile

Thanks Marmy! I'm also planning/hoping for a drug free birth. I used the gas with DS, so was hoping to have some additional strategies this time.

I only had a 3hr labour, I loved it. Hadn't considered it before I went into labour as ds was born at 33wks, but midwife suggested it, so I said yes. I loved it, just took the edge off my pain. I will be using one again this time

Ross: That is Great to hear!! My real concern is the travel from home to hospital. Last time it was a nightmare and because I dilated very slowly, I had to do the trip twice!! <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> blink I was really hoping the tens would give me something to focus on during the trip.
