Clomid - Fertility Drug Lock Rss

Hi all,

I suffer from poloy-cystic ovaries and had to take clomid to conceive. I was on the last and highest dose of clomid when I concieved - the next step was IVF.

Just wanting to know how many others have conceived on clomid and if they had to take clomid again when they wanted another child.

Also just wondering how long after you had your child it took to get your period back - my son is 8 months old and I still haven't had it. He is breastfed but I've been told I should have had a visit by now.

Luckiest Mum In The World

Hi Saj,

If you have read my other post, I was referred to have clomid but told I cant take it until i have lost weight. I also have PCOS, do you mind me asking if you are overweight, and if they put you on clomid straight away?

Thanks

(ps sorry I can't help you, we are trying ever so hard for our 1st)
Hi girls,
Just wanted to tell you my experience with fertility drugs. I do not have polycystic ovaries but I just wasn't ovulating. Apparantly.
I took Clomid for 6 months under the care of an IVF specialist in NSW. I then moved house and so I changed specialists... although it was an IVF clinic, it was still only clomid I was on. Anyway the new guy said that 6 months was too long, and started me on 'ovulation induction'.
This involved taking hormone injections, and having those horrible ultrasounds to check how many eggs were getting big enough. It also then involved a 'trigger' injection, where it would release the eggs that were big enough from my ovary. We were then told to have sex twice, after the trigger, a certain number of hours later and half a day after that or something. Anyway it WORKED and we have a beautiful boy to show for it.
I was shocked that it had come to that, but it is an option instead of 'full-on' IVF... so ask your doctor about 'ovulation induction' before you go further than that!
Hope this helps!!
