15 week gender scan... Lock Rss

Hi ladies I had my 15 week gender scan today and the lady seemed pretty positive bub is a girl .... I seen the 3 white lines a few times, just wondering has anyone seen this and ended up with a boy?
At 15 weeks, while you can tell what you are having ...I would wait until you have your 20 week scan and check again. I know a few mums who ended up having boys but were told they were having a girl. It is different if they told you you were having a boy - you cant really get that bit wrong often, but I would wait. Good luck in your pregnancy
Thanks ladies... I went to a place that does gender scans from 15 weeks
I had my gender scan at 21 weeks, they told me I was having a girl. So I bought heaps of girly pretty things. Then at 34 week had another scan turns out first scan was wrong we were having a boy! Lucky I kept all my receipts so I could return everything.
Be careful. Early scans can be deceptive. I've heard of women being given false information from the 20 week scan. For example, a friend of mine was told bub has one kidney, turns out bub had two. Also if you are told your placenta is low, it can move up by 36 weeks.

You can't really get a boy wrong, but if you were told it was a girl, it can be wrong. But rest easy knowing they get it right more often than they get it wrong.

Be wary of getting heaps of scans especially if you don't know the experience of the scanner. In the US now you can get scans at shopping malls done by persons with questionable experience and ethics.

The heat of scans can effect bub and little research has been done on more than one scan during pregnancy (10 years ago only one scan was offered) - so extra scans in the hands of any inexperienced or untrained persons are not recommended. One or two scans might be ok, but the effects or regular scanning are largely anecdotal. Most women who've had a lot of scans report no ill effects to their baby. On the other hand why risk brain cavitation for the extra information.

I elected not to find out.
My friend thought she was expecting a girl after 3 scans indicated this, but she ended up with a boy.

I think it's so much nicer not to find out.
I have been told the same thing when I did my 19 weeks scan and was a baby girl, so I'm pretty sure you will have a girl too smile
I was told we were having a girl at 20 week scan, but then got them to confirm at a 4d scan at 27 weeks so maybe you could do that?

I had my gender scan at 15 weeks and seen the 3 little lines, then my specialist confirmed at 16.5 weeks deff a girl. I was originally told at 12 weeks 3 days they were pretty sure so I would say Congrats on the princess. They won't tell you unless their 99% sure
True that.Mistakes do happen most of the time.It happened to me already on my second child, they told me it's a boy and it turned out to be a girl. But no regrets though,I'm blessed with my lovely bb girl who happens to be the sweetest thing. smile
