High risk NTS result - Amniocentesis Lock Rss

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has had a NTS come back that puts them in the high risk category. We had to see a specialist the other day and in a couple of weeks I have to have an amniocentesis (spelling?) needless to say have been rather stressed over the whole thing! if anyone else has had any experience I would be grateful for your thoughts.

mum to two gorgeous guys

I had a high risk 1/69 with my last pregnancy - what is your risk? I did not want further tests as I was more worried about something going wrong. I read lots of peoples comments on downs babies/children and my husband and I decided to proceed. At the 18 week scan they looked for further markers (eg enlarged heart) but all looked ok. In January this year we had a perfect baby girl. I totally understand your worries and hope all goes well for you.

Nikki, Brissie, mum of 3,

I had a high risk of downs syndrome and was put in the high risk category.
I had the amneo done and everything came back fine and my little girl is a healthy bundle of joy.

I know it is easy for people to say not to worry but you will but everything will be fine for you too.

hi, i to have been put in the high risk and after seeing the specialist desided not to have the amnio as my numbers are 1 in 260 so felt safer not to have anymore test.. bu thats a high number for me as i should be 1 in 1000 and something im 19.
i wasnt told anything at my 20week scan and when i ask about the other signs the lady just said i should have made my mind up at 13 weeks if i wanted to know or not! and that ther isnt anything she can look for anyway... but the booklits told me other wise.....
i have another scan next week i will be 30weeks then so hope to know alittle more..on the scan form it says something about fendal?? height being lower then expected but who can really read doctors writing anyway.
but good luck to everyone i hope we all have beautiful babys downs or not

Hi nessie, It wasn't me personally it was my sister who was given a 1 in 51 result after her nucal scan. Unfortunately an amnio confirmed she was the 1 in 51. But I am sure as you will hear from other ladies here most do work out ok. Good luck I know the wait for the amnio and results was the hardest part for her and her husband. Best Wishes.
