Infantile Scoliosis Lock Rss

My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis at 15 months. Her curve is approx 34 degrees and is still the same 6 months later. The specialist keeps asking us to come back every 6 months to check on her progress but I want to know if there is anything else that I can do? Does anyone know of any infants with scoliosis and had any success in reducing the curvature of the spine?

Hi Mia, I had/have scoliosis it was picked up at the age of 4 back in the 70's.
I went through all the braces as a kid and finally had a spinal fusion at the age of 12 as the braces did not help. I am now 36 and have never had a problem with my back...I am lucky in that aspect.
I do see chiro's and osteo's for regular tune ups as my hips and shoulders can get a bit out of sorts because of my to get to your question of prevention.
Many of the chiros I have seen have said IF ONLY I had of come to them they would have been able to correct the curvature, who knows if this could have been. Back in the 70's chiros were thought of as very alternative treatment.
So I would definately go and see a chiro or osteo for a 2nd opinon.
I can give you the names of 2 guys in Melb and 1 guy on the Goldcoast to see.( I trust these guys 100%) I don't know what state you are in.
You can email me on [email protected] if you want more details.

Or look in the Yellow Pages many of them now specialise in infant and baby treatment.
Just don't get sucked into some of the chiros who claim that you need to go several times a week.
A good chiro will be able to do whats needed with regular visits, not several times a week.
