Please Help, Recipe needed Lock Rss

Hi guys!
i need a savoury recipe thats appealing to 2 - 5 yr olds that can be served cold (preferably a finger food). My son has a take a plate thing for lunch for the Melbourne Cup at his day care. I really wanted to do something creative. any ideas?

I've probably left the reply too late, but theres a funky site

http://www.freshforkids.com.au/recipes_kidsfam.htm

which has family recipes that might help in future.

I was thinking about "devils on horseback", but turns out this is prunes wrapped in bacon ( might not be a hit with the kiddies)

Hope you picked a winner

Narelle, Melbourne, 4 yr old and 18mth old boys

You'll need
11/2 cups grated cheese
125g ricotta cheese
125g ham, chopped or 2 rashers rindless bacon, grilled and chopped
1 zucchini, grated
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
3 eggs
11/2 cups milk

Here's how
1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Mix together the cheeses, ham or bacon, zucchini and parsley. Place in the base of a greased 23cm flan dish or pie plate.
2. Whisk together the eggs and milk and pour into the dish.
3. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until set and golden brown.

This is a favourite, just add salt and pepper too, and cut into shapes when it has gone cold.

www.bhg.com.au is where I get alot of my kids recipes from. Just follow the link to the kids section.
