When should I take the bottle away? Lock Rss

My son has just turned 1 and quite happily drinks from his sipper cup or bottle. I have been wondering when a good time might be to take his bottle away. It seems to me that if I do it soon we will not have all of the tantrums we might face later on. Does any one have any suggestions?

Hi

We replaced the bottle with a sipper cup when my daughter was 12 months old. She has her cups just for water and then a special cup for milk. I bought a cup for milk with a silicone sipper teat which helped with the transition and now she will happily drink milk from any cup. I found it worked really well for us, but i suppose it can depend on temperaments. We had the attitude that it was worth trying and if it was going to cause too much distress we'd put it off for a while longer, but there was no probs.

Kind Regards
Alison
