Just a special message that i found and thought i'd share: Lock Rss

To My Child
Just for this morning, I'm going to smile when I see
your face
and laugh when I feel like crying.
Just for this morning, I'll let you choose what you
want to wear,
and smile and say how perfect it is.
Just for this morning, I'm going to step over the
laundry,
and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
Just for this morning, I'll leave the dishes in the
sink,
and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours
together.
Just for this afternoon, I'll unplug the telephone and
keep the computer off
and sit with you in the back yard and blow bubbles.
Just for this afternoon, I'll not yell once, not even
a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice
cream truck
and I'll buy you one if he comes by.
Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you
are going to be when you grow up,
or second guess every decision I have made where you
are concerned. Just for this afternoon, I'll let you
help me bake cookies and won't stand over you trying
to fix them.
Just for this afternoon, we'll go to McDonald's and
buy us both a Happy Meal
so you can have both toys.
Just for this evening, I'll hold you in my arms and
tell you a story about how you were born
and how much I love you.
Just for this evening, I'll let you splash in the tub
and not get angry.
Just for this evening, I'll let you stay up late
while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
Just for this evening, I'll snuggle beside you for
hours
and miss my favourite TV shows.
Just for this evening when I run my fingers through
your hair as you pray,
I'll simply be grateful that God has given me the
greatest gift ever given.
I'll think about the mothers and fathers who are
searching for their missing children,
the mothers and fathers who are visiting their
children's graves instead of their bedrooms,
and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms
watching their children suffer senselessly,
and screaming inside that they can't handle it
anymore.
And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a
little tighter, a little longer.
It is then that I'll thank God for you and ask him for
nothing,
except one more day............

Hi Christina,

Such a lovely and beautiful message and I agree that this should be shared with every one that reads any thread posted on this site!!

We often take the one that that matters the most and is the most precious in our lives for granted : our baby. Life nowadays is so hectic and not everyone can help by scream in fastrastion over the demanding job of being a parent!

This message is a good reminder of the wonderful joys our kids bring into our lifes and we should all read this every morning when we wake up so the day for us and our lil bubs will start out as wonderful as the love we feel for them.

The ending made me want to cry because its true that we are lucky to have our bubs healthy and growing each day to the parents that have kids that pass away/missing/sick.

Take care everyone!

How beautiful that is and so true - we are all so caught up in our busy lives where we feel we have to do so many things, that we forget the basics and that is loving and being wihtour children. I get to the end of everyday and say I wish I had done more with my two little darlings and not cooked, cleaned, answered phones, washed......the list goes on.

My baby boy is nine months now and just started crawling and I cannot tell enough people of his triumph and so too his just turned three year old sister brags for him as she tells everyone she taught him how to do it!! I know every child does these things, but they are the simple pleasures that light up our worlds. Children are the gifts of life and love. I wish everyday was twice as long so we could do everything and nothing just to have the balance.

Thankyou for sharing that.

Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful words. A lot of people take falling pregnant and having babies for granted but my husband and I know that it is tought. It took as 2 1/2 years to fall with our beautiful DD and we have just miscarriaged. Your poem although made me cry, made me realise just how precious these little 'miracles' are.
Thank you again for reminding everyone who reads it.
