Remove the crusts from 5 thick slices of stale bread. Cut the braed into fingers or use shaped cutters. Put the bread on a baking tray and bake in a very slow oven ( 130degC ) for about 1 hour or until dry and hard. Allow to cool thoroughly and store in an airtight container. Makes about 20 rusks.
