What did you want to be when you grew up? Lock Rss

I always wanted to be a Guide Dog Trainer, however my grades were just never going to cut it. sad

At the age of 31 I am a full time Mummy and I also work part time in Cellar Door Sales at a local winery which I really do enjoy.

However, when the kids are all grown up I think I would still like to volunteer to be a "puppy sitter" for the Guide Dogs. grin However, I am likely to become far too attached. lol!

wanted to be a vet when i was a kid but descided i didnt want to work that hard lol.

now im a mum. . . hmmmmm HAHA
When I was little I used to pretend I was a checkout chick and a teacher (not at the same time tho lol... just two things I liked playing at..)
Anyhoo, got to be a checkout chick for 5yrs at Bunnings and now I'm in my last semester of study and will be qualified to teach when I pass...

So whilst I'm not there just yet, I'm on my way..

At one point I thought about being a vet but I couldn't handle having to put animals down or operate on them, so that one's out.

I did think the same thing when I was about 14. Then I did a weeks work experience at a vet clinic and realised that I couldn't do it. Spent almost the entire week in tears. Still to this day I will never forget the poor old man that came in to have his dog put down. They had been best mates for 17 years. sad I was a mess and cried for most of the day! After that week I realised that I would get far too attached to the animals too quickly and would spend half my life in tears. lmao!

I wanted to be a photographer because I thought the photographer from Melrose Place was cool laugh

I ended up getting a Diploma in Photography but majored in Scientific photography, which didn't get me anywhere. Now I am in training to be a Nutritional Research Scientist which is what I am meant to do grin
As corny as it sounds, I ALWAYS wanted to be a mum! So that was pretty cool to achieve that with the most wonderful man on the planet! We are now expecting #3 and I couldn't be more excited if I wanted to be!

What on earth does a Scientific photographer do? Do you take those photos of tiny little organisms and that kind of thing?
Well at least you're on track now! And you can photograph all your research laugh

I did my work experience at the RSPCA and it was pretty sad having to watch those animals get put down too.. and seeing how they spent their days was so sad..

A mum & a midwife grin achieved the first one x2 and well on the way to the second one and am very excited about it too! Can't wait, i love everything about pregnancy, labour, birth & newborns!

I didn't get to experience what the do in a work situation. But while studying we did alot of images through the microscope (the camera was attached to it) and things like infrared, ultraviolet and fluresence photography. I know most careers are in the medical area.
Hey,

My mum still has this thing we had to do in grade six where we wrote what we wanted to be - mine said I wanted to be a nurse. And I have been nursing for 16years this year!!! I love it and would still do nothing else!

Cheers
I wanted to be a concert pianist. Was pretty well on the way but decided socialising was far more fun than sitting in a room for hours on end by myself practising piano. I taught for years and did accompanying too (which I just LOVE and miss terribly). I'll probably end up doing lawyer stuff for a bit and once the kids are at school start doing piano accompanying again cos I really did love that.
I wanted to be a podiatrist, then when it came to it I thought it was boring, so I did prosthetics and orthotics.....now I am a home goddess, or as I was told recently a home executive officer
