Do you like your name? Lock Rss

Yep, I actually like my name! Its not uncommon (Tessa) but I was the only one in my school (primary and high) although there were a couple of Tess'. The only other Tessa I know is one of the babies in my mums group!
And on the Renee note, I know three renees and none had blonde hair and blue eyes!!
my name is pretty plain, but i get alot of people writting it wrong.. jodie is my name and i get Jodi or Jody never the right way <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> lol

ETA though its worked in my favour a couple of times hehehe
I'm Cassandra and I DETEST it!

But nobody calls me Cassandra - its always Cassie these days, which I quite like! smile
I actually like my name Dimity as growing up i was always the only one i had a few nick names like dimity cricket and dim sim which i still get and i am 25.
I have seen and met only 3 others there is currently a weather reporter on 10 i think named dimity
I like my name now, but when I was younger I always wanted a different one lol. I just always have to spell it to people alot.. And I can never get it on those personalised keyrings, pens etc lol tongue my names Kassandra btw
I like my name but would have preferred the similar name that my parents nearly called me. My name has weird spelling which has its pros and cons but my surname (maiden) was long and European and the two together caused so much confusion with spelling and pronunciation. My married surname is just a shortened version of my maiden name (DH changed his surname to this also) so i'm really happy with it and we shortened it to a version that is much easier to spell and pronounce smile
I am Alyssa - I don't like or dislike it... I don't know what to think of it really! I think it's hard to decide when it belongs to you? Weird I know! lol

I get sick of spelling it... and have gotten used to people mispronouncing it - I just answer to whatever it is they call me as there's no point trying to correct everyone! lol

Hubby has the same problem - so whenever an invite comes in the mail we can expect at least ONE of our names spelled wrong if not both. smile

I don't mind my name (first name) there are not many around in certainly is not a common name it's Pauline and people can usually spell it. I used to hate it but don't mind it now. My surname is my husbands and it's indian and I always have to spell it and even then they get it wrong so I don't really like it but I do love my husband!
Funny you say about celtic first names not matching surnames. My kids are Cameron and Megan (I love the name Megan) with an indian surname, having said that I'm not sure what would go really well with our surname.
My name is Sarah and yep I like it smile Its popular, I know a million sarah's actually my sister in law is also sarah so we have the same first and last name blink Still love it though. Think its a classic smile

My last name on the other hand...grr stupid dutch names its all DHs fault <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> have to spell it to EVERYONE

I do like my name. Its Kerren, my mum loved Kieren for a boy and then when i was born she changed it to suit me!

I've never met another with the same spelling, and hadnt met another with the same name until i was in year 7 at school and then there were 3 of us with the same name, but all different spelling.

I do have to spell my name out a bit, but that has never bothered me.

It does the job.
Another Jessica here!! Though if anyone calls me that I wonder what I have done wrong, mainly Jess here, my mum calls me Jessica but she is the only one, I don't mind the name but its very common and I much prefer Jess.... Hubby sometimes calles me Jessie ... amongst other things tongue
