night lights Rss

Ok so I am thinking that I need to get a night light for Pumba, I am so over him getting up during the night and turning every light on in the house and the tv in the room because he does not like the dark... I am thinking perhaps something with a pattern or something but I am not really sure... he will be 5 in July so I do not want anything really babyish

Now Drew on the other hand is only 18 months so babyish for him would not be an issue lol, for him I am looking for something that perhaps plays music?? the light would be more for my benefit then his lol at the moment I turn on the main light and that is not good lol

Thanks in advance

We use a bear light for DD. It's a little plastic bear who lights up and the light changes colours. I love it, DD loves it and it's great because if they get up they can pick the bear up off the holder and take it with them. (not that DD does, she turns all the lights on lol)

WOW so is it the base that is connected to the wall and not the bear??
that sounds great, can I ask where you got it from?

Hi I have a suggestion for your older boy. We have a great one for DD1 from Woolies- about $15. It plugs into the wall and it's a ring shape which actually charges the 'night light'. The night light is actually a little torch which can come out of the charger. There are settings so the dull night light is either off, always on or comes onw hen the room gets dark. When you take the torch out of the charger, it automatically turns on- which would be great for your boy as he can take his light with him. Also, when the power is cut to the night light (blackout), the torch comes on so you can find it. We LOVE it smile. It's very plain, but so functional. We're going to get another for DD2.

Jed is nearly 4 ans also hates the dark. We just use a plug into the wall nightlight from the supermarket. It doesnt seem real bright when you put it on but in the darkness of the night they are pretty bright.

For Teika who is nearly 2 we have a homedics sound machine. It has some white noise sounds along with nursery rhymes. It also has a projector nightlight in it. You put little discs into the back and it will project a moving picture on the roof wall etc. It is very good, but was pretty expensive from memory.
They look like a soft toy with a hard shell and can be carried around.

We have a salt lamp. It provides more light than a night light but is still that soft pinkish light, so is ideal for them getting up to go to the toilet (now just to get the youngest to actually go).

Yep, the base plugs in, the bear sits on top and charges off the base. The bear itself also has an on/off switch on the bottom. We got ours from BigW but pretty sure I have seen them in Safeway too. They also come in an egg shape but the bear is just too cute.

thanks all for your replies, will make a trip to Big W and Aldi this week to see what I can find... I had the little Einstein ocean wonders but for some reason it is on the blink grrr

I have a Giimmo (or however you spell it) dinosaur, and Kylara might not be old enough to appreciate it, but I love it.

I just recently bought an $8 lamp from K Mart that comes in a range of colours and a very low energy saving 5w globe that just gives off a nice light for night time.
