WAAAAAAH! Someone care to tell me... Lock Rss

Why I have SUCH a destructive 3yro??? He destroys everything! And not accidentally! Whatever he deems to be the 'bad guys' or worthy of destruction (in his imaginary play, which is constantly!) gets hammered. Toys, kitchen appliances, clothing, coffee table...gosh, pretty much everything.

Right now he's smashing two toys into each other because one is a transformer and the other is Buzz Lightyear. They don't like each other, apparently. I said they're both good guys and they should go save the world together. His response? That's boring. gasp unsure <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

I promise, he's not allowed to watch violent shows/games etc!!! blink

I tried telling him off because he is just trashing his toys (of course, only the expensive ones. The cheap ones obviously aren't worth destroying) and he acts repentant for a couple minutes....then I turn around to see him doing it again!

I took him to uni today and received this comment: "wow. He's definitely a boy." Um no, he's destructo.

*big sigh*
lol,,,, didn't you know about transformers and Buzz...... Buzz is a good guy and transformers and a bit sneaky....

unless he is biting and kicking and punching you and everyone he seems like he has a fantastic imagination and hats off to you for encouraging it...

i guess if you want him to play quietly you need to sit with him and do that rather than leaving him to play alone... but i have great faith that buzz and transformer are sturdy little fellows and isn't it great he is enjoying his toys rather than not using them and they sitting around covered in dust...

by the way its hard to distroy a buzz ours is 6 years old and onto the second child and still getting a hiding...

off to bed now..
Lol im sorry this kinda made me laugh (only because its sounds alot like my DS). He is only 2 and is started doing the whole brrrrrmmmm *crash*. And crashs his cars together. I too get the whole 'he sure is a boy'.
But im hoping he want get to destructive but hey kids have amazing imgainations!!
Yeah, he's not violent (well, sometimes violence erupts in the midst of a temper tantrum!), he definitely has an INCREDIBLE imagination!! And no, it's definitely nothing to do with playing alone. Both DH and I play with him ALL the time (DH is with him right now) and what does he want to do? Build block 'robots' then see whose smashes whose down first. Yep. And that's quiet play compared to his usual imaginative play requests. No quiet time we try to endorse stays quiet. lol With the exception of Reading Eggs. He sits there for 40mins doing it on the computer and fully enjoys it! And storytime. But those are the only times he doesn't turn it into some imaginative play that involves smashing and crashing things. blink

haha oh and his buzz is broken. It was one of those $300 dollar ones that he got for Christmas from MIL and the front buttons on it don't work anymore. lol The transformer is definitely worse for wear (only a couple months old) and he also had some other robot but broke the head off this avo. <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

Is it relatively normal for 3yro boys to be this full-on with play? Or was I just blessed with a superbly energetic one? grin
hehehe owe Jaiden!

Mia is into imaginary play aswell lately and she loves to crash her cars & trucks and trains or even smashes her pram into the wall and says "opps sorry bab-beeeeeee" LOL Mia please dont crash into teh walls with your pram go outside with it if your going to do that...2seconds later i heard *bang bang bang* go running outside and she is crashing into the colour bond fence as hard as she possibly can and that side has a old lady who lives their aswell *sigh*

haha yeah, she seemed to be quite the ball of energy! It's funny though, her using a pram and DS using whatever has wheels. Must be something about wheels, aye?? lol

laugh laugh laugh I need her to do that to our loud neighbours!!
hehe Yup! probally doenst help that daddy plays all the fun rough games with them. when jase is home he is always playing rumbles with her and chasing her around etc
I think boys are ment to be destructive lol! My DS is 9.5months old and already smashes his toys together he has also learnt to throw now so it's always fun when you get hit unexpectedly by a toy tongue my brother was a terror when he was younger to the stories mum and dad tell us are quiet funny sometimes and scary at others (2years old he lit the ping pong table on fire (20 odd years ago, no child proof lighters and dad had left one laying around in the garage) 4 years old smashing game discs because he couldn't get past a level haha and the list goes on) so if he's only smashing his toys together I'd take tha as a blessing lol smile
