Family Photo Sessions Rss

I have just enquired about having a family photo session. We have NEVER had one as a family and I never even got Pixi Fotos or anything like that of the kids when they were babies. Tut tut to me!! unsure

If you have had a family session....

How much did you pay for the actual photo session?
And what were the cost of the photos?

Thanks! smile

We had a family photo session done with our photographer that we were using for our wedding.
It was what they now call engagement shots. Kind of a getting use to the camera and photographer etc.

Anyway we werent charged for the session, and because they were doing our wedding we were only charged about $200 to get all the photos on disk so we can do what we like with them.

Julia (14yrs), Cooper (6yrs) & Amarlia (14 months)

We made it a bit of a thing to have photos done each time we add to our family <span class="emoticon smile">smile</span> I just look out for promotions for cheaper sitting fees. I think the first time (8years ago) was around $50 for the sitting fee and we spent around $2000 on pics (first baby [url=http://www.mysmiley.net][img]http://serve.mysmi...] ) and the second time was about the same for sitting fee but pics were around $800 and then third one was $100 for sitting and about $1200 for pics. Each time we ended up with at least two large (around 70x50) wall prints and then 4 or 5 A4 size and about 4 or 5 standard photo size prints for grandparents.
Pixi Photos are crap! dont waste your money.

Homestly you will get much nicer photos and a better deal sourcing out & using a photographer in your area especially if you find someone who is still training.

My photographer is awesome!!! she is training still but the images she takes are awesome!!! does what ever i want done and any location. the first shoot she did with my kids she traveled 40mins to me and only charged me $65 for an hour session, in that hour she would take 100-120 shots and then she would edit them and i could choose 5 photos from the edited ones to have on a disc.
the next shoot she did she did for free as long as i gave permission and signed a waver allowing her to use my childrens photos in her portfollio & for an assignment for her course and i recieved 8 edit photos on disc.

In a fortnights time i have another shoot with her, this time in the studio, its costing me $200 which includes the shoot and i will recieve 15 edited on disc and 1 large framed printed pic <span class="emoticon smile">smile</span>

here is some of the pics she has taken of my babes <span class="emoticon smile">smile</span>

so as you can see, for a student i reckon she is preety darn good and a hell of alot cheaper then pixie, not to mention quality is 300% better! if i was you ild ask around friends/fam/work collegues or even go to the local tafe/uni or put up a flyer looking for a student photographer in your area at the shops and see if you can find someone :)goodluck
We had ours on Tuesday! My best friend gave me a voucher for the sitting and $390 worth of photos). We ended up getting a 5 photo frame for $1600 which included the discount. I swore I wouldn't spend any money too, but they were beautiful photos... The smallest photo he did was 8x10 and they were $195 each. It was really fun, DS was an angel and gave the camera the biggest smile he's ever had... also weed all over the carpet twice!
I found a lady that did it for a hobbie. She met us at the park, was with us for about two hours and edited them for me. I had to supply my own usb stick and got 300 photos. She did it all for free but i had to let her use them in her portfolio. She did an amazing job, much better than the money i wasted on pixie photos. Then i could print whichever ones i liked in whatever size i wanted too.
I recently had someone who just started a photography business take family photos for us. She came to which ever location I wanted. Took photos for about an hour - about 150 shots, and edited them and put them on a disc to be printed out as I required. THe whole thing cost me $70 and reprints are next to nothing to get done. Well worth it.
We use a local photographer. Her prices haev gone up as her popularity grows and booms.

We pay a $10 sitting fee each person. Then its $5 per photo on a disc.
I've always just done the $10 pixi photo deal, they charge you $10 for the sitting fee and you get an 8x10 free. We've had 4 or 5 now and they're nice smile Well.. Except the last family one I was hell tired and look like I've been smoking the green stuff lol <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> EVERYTIME I look at it I think that!!

I have got to agree with STB2, we got free sitting photo's for PIXI with a free 10x13. We will not be going back. First of all I was told that there was 3 studios & it would take 1hr. When we got there, 1studio & everyone was booked 15mins apart. We recieved a phone call day before asking us to come in 1hr earlier, which I didn't have a problem with until we got there we ended up going in half after our orginal time & offered no apology just told that a little girl earlier tha day was not co operating & had put them behind. Also, I had my parents with us as I wanted to get photo of them with our little one, needless to say my dad was not impressed, & bub was not his usual bubbly self. Before we went in I had to say what I wanted the free photo to be, said i would have a look once they were done & told no I had to choose before we even had the photo done. Our shoot went for around 30mins, then we had to go away for 30mins while they went through photo, when we got back we had to wait another 30mins. Shown the free photo they picked, they then put a package together alot of big wall photos & whie they looked nice was not what we wanted. we want alot of 5x7, 8x10. this was totally ignored. The package they did up was going to cost over $4000 but if we bougt it today it would only be $1280, for one who has That type of money to pay there & then. She then went on about a points system made no sense. & if I wanted a disk of the photo it was going to cost an extra $470. Needless to say we only got the free photo, while it is nice it is not the one I would ave choosen. We had Twinkle Toes photos done when our bub was 5weeks old & it cost us nothing for the sitting our package was 380.00 with a disk, our photo were beautiful, wish we had gone back there. But we are now trying to organize hsband family shoots to be done, most sitting seem to be between 100-250. But we definately will not be going to pixi. have fun it is something your family with cherish forever.
Hi!
We had one done in March. We have a really nice park across the road so I just hired a photographer to meet with us and go over to the park for an hour. I also told him up front on making the appointment that I wasn't interested in buying pics in a 'package' form I simply wanted a disc with all the pics. For him to come out for an hour and for the disc. The cost was $250. We got 249 pics on the disc. Here is the Site preview link he gave us 5 days after the pics were taken. (I had the disc a week later. With the disc I then got a family one and my fav one of DS by himself done on Canvas and made a photobook of my fav 100 shots. I did this on Harvey Norman's site when they had their 40% off. Paid $110 for the 2 canvases and the book.

Enjoy getting yours done. We going to make it a yearly thing and have this photographer over the same time each year.
Hey moms) after the birth of our first child my husband and I decided to buy a camera to capture the growing up of our childrens with the camera we decided immediately, but since we were advised to buy gimbal stabilizer in addition to the camera I searched the Internet for a long time and found Zhiyun Crane Plus thanks to https://gimbalgarage.com/best-gimbals-for-mirrorless-cameras/ I chose this one. Now our children is two and one years old and we have not missed a single moment of their life.
